She designed and built her first trend-setting home in Santa Barbara in the late 60s continuing to work there until 1989. I have a background in ranching. I majored in Animal Husbandry at U.C. Davis. From the middle fifties to the middle sixties I raised and trained quarter horses.
I have a background in homebuilding. For thirty-plus years my husband and I have designed and built unique houses, two of which are 130 and 160 E. Mountain Dr. Santa Barbara, CA. We have remodeled homes of all sizes and ages. We have done everything from building cast concrete houses to salvaging old barns.
I have a background in Botany. For seventeen years I owned and operated Santa Barbara Water Gardens, an aquatic plant nursery. I planted many of the great water gardens of Santa Barbara during that time.
In 1968 I was the co-founder of an alternative school, The Community School, in Santa Barbara which still spreads its influence throughout the educational and artistic communities of that city.
